My trip
(May 14/09) There was a time when science fiction was exciting and creative and imaginative, exploring all conceivable possibilities opened up by new science, or at least new technologies. Now, "science fiction" means trotting out the same old tropes and memes, spaceships and aliens and time travel and post-apocalypse westerns and thud-and-blunder mighty-thewed warriors and wisecracking heroes. The closest we get to reasoned speculation is now in fantasies like CSI, or something like Dan Brown's thrillers.
Why doesn't David Suzuki have his own superhero comic, then? It makes more sense to me.
